Governing Body
The 13 member strong Governing Body of Godhuli comprises of a vibrant set of Samaritans of varied experience including retired government servants, academicians, doctors, a writer and working professionals. They share a common passion to help educate the underprivileged without seeking any favours in return. In true Gandhian spirit inculcated by the founder, none of the Governing Body members seek any emoluments or compensations and work solelyheerly to experience the joy of selfless service.

Degree in Civil Engineering in 1955. Also, Ph D (IIT, Delhi), PG Diplomas in ‘Gandhian Studies’, & in ‘Econometrics’.
Fellow INAE, IE(I), IIBE, IUT, IAC, IRT, & IIPWE; Life Member IBC, & SESI. Joined Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) in 1957 as Asst. Engr.; retired as Chairman, Railway Board, ex-officio Principal Secretary to Govt. of India, on Dec. 31, 1992.
After retirement from IR, worked with UNDP on a study on India’s Transport Sector (1993); jointly authored books on ‘Non-motorized Transport of India: Current Status and Policy Issues’ (1996), and ‘Transport Energy Nexus – Towards Sustainability (1999), published by AITD.
Was honoured as an ‘Engineering Personality’ by Institution of Engineers (India) in 2004. & with ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’ by Indian Building Congress in 2010.
Was Chairman, International Institute of Waste Management, Bhopal (2009-2010).
From June 1996 to July 2006, worked as Director, National Gandhi Museum and Library, New Delhi. Have authored a number of books/papers on Gandhian thought. Member, High Level Dandi Memorial Committee (under Ministry of Culture, GoI).

M. P. Budhiraja
Shri M.P.Budhiraja, Completed B.TECH.(Hons.) in Civil Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1956 and M.TECH. ( Structural Engineering) from the same Institute in 1957, He joined Indian Railways Service of Engineers ( IRSE) in 1958. Served Indian Railways and Nigerian Railway Corporation in various capacities and retired from service in 1991 as Principal Chief Engineer. From the year 1993 to 2008 he was founder Director of URBAN SYSTEMS INDIA PVT, LTD, a consulting firm providing Architectural and Engineering consultancy. He is founder member of the Governing Body of GODHULI from its inception in 1994-95. Before taking over responsibility as Vice Chairman of GODHULI, he was its Hony. Treasurer for several years.
Dr. C. M. Bhagat
Dr Chander Mohan Bhagat has done MBBS from Delhi University in the year 1978, completed his MD – Anesthesia from AIIMS – 1981.

Medical Director of Bhagat Hospitals Pvt Ltd., (Bhagat Hospital and Bhagat Chandra Hospita-(NABH Accredited.) He hold a position of Presidemt IMA Janak Puri twice. He was Secretary DMA NH Forum from 2013-2015. Now he is holding a position of Chairman DMA NH & MEF from 2015-2017. He is a Organising Secretary – Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO) – 2017. Vice Chairman of Godhuli – NGO – Education for Slum Children.
Dr. Navdip Kaur
After completing her formal education i.e. M.SC., M.Phil., Chemistry from Punjabi University, Patiala, in 1984, she actively participated in the family business in Delhi. Later on she had additional qualification in Naturopathy (N.D.D.Y & P.D.N.Y).
She has been attached to Bhartiya Yog Sansthan since 1995 and has been conducting free morning Yoga and meditation class since 2000 and practicing Naturopathy. Also actively managing one of Godhuli centres.
Her interests other than participating in social service are reading, writing her blogs, photography & singing.
B. S. Kapur
Mr. B.S.Kapur is a career Railway officer and retired in August’2006 as Managing Director of IRCON INTERNATIONAL Ltd., a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways. Previous to that, he worked as Director of the Company from May 1998 to January 2002, before taking over as CEO.He is a Post Graduate in Civil Engineering from IIT, Delhi and holds a Specialized Diploma in Construction Technology from Polytechnic of Milan, Italy.
During his tenure in Railways from 1969 to 1998, he has held various assignments including Executive Director in Railway Board from 1991 to 1996 and Divisional Railway Manager in Northern Railway from 1996 to 1998.
After his superannuation, he had been working as Senior Advisor to CMD, M/S Simplex Infrastructures Limited, and then joined as President & CEO – Infrastructure, heading the construction wing of Punj Lloyd, Ltd.
From Sept’2011,he worked as Senior Advisor- Technical with Uniquest Infraventures till January’2016. This is a fully held subsidiary of UEM Group of Malaysia. In this role, he was overseeing the construction of a National Highway PPP project, costing about Rs. 1100 crs.
Presently, he is working as Sr. Advisor with Delhi based Mokul Group, specializing in execution/ liasioning in various fields of infrastructure and petrochemicals.
He holds a Diploma in Management and has also been trained in the Manchester Business School, UK.
He has also been trained in Public administration and holds a Specialized Diploma in Public Adminstration from Indian Institute of Public Adminstration as also an M.Phil in Social Sciences.
He has been associated with some religious and social organizations, holding honorary positions.
He has extensively travelled abroad on Railway and company business and on private account.
K. Narayan
A product of the Special Class Railway Apprenticeship scheme of the Indian Railways, K.Narayan trained as a Mechanical Engineer under the Indian Railways and joined service in 1993. After spending eight years looking after maintenance system of rail rolling stock, he joined CONCOR, a Public Sector Enterprise (PSE) under Ministry of Railways in 2001 where he worked in the middle level and top management for 15 years looking after Technical, Commercial and Planning functions. He presently heads the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, a PSE under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
Besides a Mechanical Engineering degree, Narayan holds a Masters in Business Administration in Human Resource Development. His interests other than social work, include reading and writing on Indian philosophy and long distance running. He has authored a book titled “Ancient Scriptures for the Modern Mind”.

K. B. Goyal
Mr. Goyal is a Civil Engineer. He joined Indian Railways in 1963 and worked for 16 years in various responsible positions including 4 years in Ministry of Railways (Railway Board). He was absorbed in RITES (A Public Sector Enterprise under Ministry of Railways) in Public Interest and worked there for 17 years and superannuated as Group General Manager in 1996. During tenure in RITES, he was responsible for important assignments abroad in Algeria, Zimbabwe and Iran. Presently he is Director, (BD) in a Private Consultancy Firm.
Raj Sethi
Mr. Raj Sethi, did AMIE (Civil Engineering) and served for 33 years in Military Engineering Services (MES) under Ministry of Defense. He worked in various field viz. Planning, Designing and execution of Civil works. He retired in 1994 as Superintending Barracks and Stores Officer. Subsequently for 10 years he worked as Senior Project Manager with AMCON Engineers Pvt. Ltd. He is presently engaged in Social and charitable activities.
Veena Dixit
D. K. Bansal
Sri D K Bansal graduated from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in Electrical Engineering in 1964. He joined Indian Railways Service of Electrical Engineers in 1966 and served in various capacities on the railways and as its diplomatic representative in Germany. He retired as Chief Electrical Engineer in 2003 and continues with IEEE (USA) and IE (India) activities professionally.
Dr. A. K. Gupta
Dr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, retired from IIT Delhi, New Delhi, as Professor of Chemical Engineering. In 1966 he did his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Nagpur University, in 1973 he did his PhD from IIT Kanpur, and in 1975 he did his Post Doctoral Research from Imperial College, London UK. Presently he is teaching at IIT Delhi and at Shiv Nadar University as guest faculty. He is presently also engaged in Social and charitable activities.
